Acceptable Use Policy

What may not be uploaded or done on Mosaikin, how we enforce it, and how anyone — user or not — can report a breach.

This document is with our lawyers for final review. Still to be confirmed: the effective date.

The legal pages are published as one set, so every page carries this notice until the last detail is confirmed. Anything this page quotes that is still outstanding is marked below.

If you need any of it now, email hello@mosaikin.app and we will tell you.

This policy applies to everyone on Mosaikin — hosts and guests — and forms part of the Host Terms and Guest Terms. Mosaikin is for sharing the memories of real events with the people who were there. Don’t upload or do anything on this list.

1. Protecting children — zero tolerance

You must not upload, request, link to or describe:

  • any sexual or sexualised content involving a person under 18, real or depicted — including AI-generated or drawn imagery;
  • content that grooms, endangers, exploits or harasses a child;
  • content identifying a child in a way that puts them at risk.

We detect and block such content, preserve the evidence, report it to the National Crime Agency as UK law requires, and terminate the account. There are no warnings for this category.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 999.

Then report the content to us at safety@mosaikin.app.

2. Illegal content

No content that is unlawful in the UK, including: intimate images shared without consent (real or deepfaked); content that harasses, threatens or incites violence or hatred against anyone, including on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or gender reassignment; terrorism content; content promoting suicide or serious self-harm; sale of illegal goods; fraud.

3. Content that doesn’t belong at an event gallery

  • Pornography or sexually explicit material (regardless of legality).
  • Gratuitously violent or gory material.
  • Content that promotes, encourages or gives instructions for suicide, self-harm, eating disorders, dangerous stunts or challenges, or the use of harmful substances, or that provides instructions for violence — whether or not it is illegal, and whoever it is aimed at.
  • Content that seriously bullies, demeans or humiliates an identifiable person — an event gallery is not the place to settle scores.
  • Content you have no right to share: other people’s copyrighted work, or photos of identifiable people you have good reason to think would object.
  • Spam, advertising, or content unrelated to the event.

4. Conduct

You must not:

  • share an event’s invite code beyond the event’s intended guests, or use a code you weren’t given;
  • attempt to access other events, other accounts, or non-public parts of the service; probe, scan or test our security without written permission (responsible disclosure: see Security);
  • scrape, bulk-download or automate access; interfere with the service’s operation; upload malware;
  • impersonate another person, or misuse the guestbook to deceive;
  • circumvent moderation, safety checks, quotas or rate limits.

5. Enforcement

Enforcement is proportionate and graduated: automated checks quarantine suspect content pending review; hosts moderate their events; we may remove content, warn, suspend or terminate accounts, and — for illegal content — preserve evidence and refer to authorities. Serious categories (section 1, and most of section 2) result in immediate action without warning. You can appeal any enforcement decision — see Host Terms section 12 or Guest Terms section 7.

Report a breach: use the Report control on any photo or guestbook entry, or email safety@mosaikin.app. Anyone can report, including people who appear in content but never used Mosaikin.
