How QR code photo sharing works

You set up the event and print a QR code. Your guests scan it, add their photos, videos and messages, and watch them on the big screen.

For hosts

Set it up before the day, keep an eye on it during, take it all home after.

  1. 1. Create the event

Sign up free, name your event and set the date.

  2. 2. Pick a template

Wedding, party, work event or memorial. The template sets the words your guests see, so a wedding has a guestbook and a conference asks for feedback.

  3. 3. Print the QR code

Download a poster, table cards or beermats carrying your event’s QR code, ready to print, and put them where guests will see them.

  4. 4. Moderate on the day

Hide or delete any photo with a tap. Switch on Require approval and photos and guestbook messages wait for you before anyone sees them.

  5. 5. Download everything after

Every photo in one ZIP, the guestbook as a PDF, a highlight reel and a word cloud. Keepsakes come with every paid plan.

For guests

Nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.

  1. 1. Scan the QR code

On the table card, the beermat or the big screen itself. The phone’s camera opens the event.

  2. 2. No app, no account

Everything runs in the phone’s browser: nothing to download and no password to remember the next day.

  3. 3. Add photos, videos and messages

Pick from the camera roll or take new ones, and write a message in the guestbook.

  4. 4. Watch the big screen

Photos and videos join the live slideshow on the venue’s screen as the evening goes on.

See it in three short films

What a guest sees, from the invitation to the photos afterwards. Every film has captions, and the words are written out under each one.

  • Joining an event

    Length

From the invitation to your first photos in the gallery, and a message on the board.

Open the film on its own (MP4, 6.1 MB)
    Read what the film says

You've been invited. The invitation has the date, the place, and a button to add it to your calendar.

If the host asks, let them know you're coming. One reply covers everyone you're bringing.

On the day, scan the QR code on the table, a poster or a coaster, or open the link, and tap Open the event.

This is the event home. Adding photos, leaving a message, the scavenger hunt and the gallery all start here.

Add photos gives you three ways in: take a photo, record a video, or pick from your camera roll.

The first time, type your first name, or leave it blank. Tick to agree, and carry on. That's all it takes.

Pick a few. Add a caption if you like. Switch off Make photo public, and they go to the hosts only.

Tap Add, and they're on their way.

They appear in the gallery once the safety check has cleared them, usually within a minute.

Tap any photo to see it larger, and move through them. Surprise Me picks one at random.

Leave a message, too. Everything you add becomes part of the keepsake, made by everyone who was there.

No rush. Enjoy the night, and add what you missed later.

Mosaikin. Your day, through everyone's eyes.

  • The big screen and the missions

    Length

How your photos reach the screen at the venue, and how the scavenger hunt’s missions score.

Open the film on its own (MP4, 13.8 MB)
    Read what the film says

See that screen? That's everyone's photos, live, a new one every few seconds. The code in the corner lets anyone join.

Add a photo and, once the safety check clears it, it goes up next.

Tap the heart on the photos you love.

Every few photos, the screen brings back one of the most loved.

Some events set missions: the best sunset, a toast at dinner. Each one is worth points.

Tap a mission and add your photo. Once it clears the safety check, the points are yours.

Your score goes up, and the leaderboard shows who's ahead. Top of the leaderboard gets the glory.

Mosaikin. Everyone's photos, together, as it happens.

  • Your photos after the event

    Length

Opening the gallery again, saving your originals, removing or reporting a photo, and sharing the link.

Open the film on its own (MP4, 4.5 MB)
    Read what the film says

The party's over. The photos aren't.

Scan the QR code, or open the event link, and the whole gallery opens.

For thirty days, this phone keeps a private key to the photos you added. They're together under Your photos, and only you can see this list.

Download my originals saves them all, full size, in one go.

Thumbnails stay on your phone as well, so you can see them without signal.

Changed your mind about one? Remove it, and it goes for everyone, for good.

Lost access, or there's a photo of you that shouldn't be there? Tap Report, choose a reason, and the host sees it straight away.

Share the link with anyone who missed it. And if you're stuck, Ask for help is always in the menu.

Printed albums and guestbooks are on the way. Mosaikin. A keepsake made by everyone you love.

Questions people ask

Do guests need an app or an account?

No. Guests scan the QR code or open the link and use their phone’s browser. There is no app, no account and no password.

What can guests add?

Photos and videos from their phone, and a message in the guestbook. Videos can be MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 50 MB each.

Is it safe to put on a big screen?

Yes. Every photo is checked automatically before it can appear, and anything questionable waits for you instead of reaching the screen. You can also switch on Require approval to see everything first, and location data is stripped from every photo before it is stored.

How long are the photos kept?

An upgraded event’s archive stays available for 5 years after the event, and you can download your own copy at any time. A free event is kept for six months after the event date, as the Host Terms set out, and we email you before it is removed.

Can the host hide photos?

Yes. Hide or delete any photo with a tap, from your phone or a laptop. With Require approval switched on, nothing appears until you have approved it.

What does it cost?

Creating an event is free. To keep everything, you upgrade that one event with a single payment; there is no subscription and nothing renews. See the prices.

Give your guests one album for the day

Creating an event is free, and guests never need an app or an account. Upgrade that one event for the whole album, every keepsake and room for thousands of photos.
