Guest Terms
The short terms that apply when you join an event with an invite code and share photos or a message — no account needed.
With our lawyers
This document is with our lawyers for final review. Still to be confirmed: the effective date.
The legal pages are published as one set, so every page carries this notice until the last detail is confirmed. Anything this page quotes that is still outstanding is marked below.
If you need any of it now, email hello@mosaikin.app and we will tell you.
You’ve been invited to share photos and messages at an event hosted on Mosaikin, a service run by Strict Mode Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company number 14561751). You don’t need an account — these short terms apply when you join an event with an invite code or QR code and contribute to it. The Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Notice form part of them.
1. Sharing at an event
- What you upload appears in the host’s event gallery, visible to the host and other people at the event (and publicly, only if the host has made the gallery public — the consent notice tells you the event’s setting).
- The host moderates the event and can hide or remove anything you post.
- Location data (EXIF/GPS) embedded in your photos is stripped automatically before anything is stored in a servable form.
2. What you promise
- Everything you upload is yours to share — your own photos and words, or ones you have the right to post.
- Where your content identifiably shows other people, you reasonably believe they would not object to it being shared with the event.
- You will follow the Acceptable Use Policy — no unlawful, abusive or explicit content, and nothing that puts a child at risk.
3. Age
You must be at least 13 to contribute. If you are under 18, make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to take part.
4. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights in what you upload. You give Strict Mode Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize and display your content solely to run the service — showing it in the event gallery, generating thumbnails, running safety checks, and producing any keepsake the host orders (which may include your contributions). The licence ends when your content is deleted, allowing a short period for backups and any legal-preservation obligation. We will never use your content for marketing without asking you separately.
5. Safety checks
Every contribution passes an automated safety check before it can appear. Content the check is unsure about waits for the host’s review. Content assessed as illegal is blocked, never appears, and is reported to the authorities where UK law requires — including the National Crime Agency for child sexual abuse content. See the Safety page.
6. How long content is kept
Content lives with the event: on free events it is deleted after the event ends plus a grace period of six months; on paid keepsake events it is kept until the host deletes it. Full details, and how to get your own contribution removed at any time, are in the Privacy Notice.
7. Removing your content, reporting, and complaints
- Remove your own contribution: use the removal route in the Privacy Notice section 9 — you don’t need an account to ask.
- Report content you believe is illegal or breaks the rules: use the Report control on any photo or guestbook entry, or email safety@mosaikin.app. This route is open to anyone affected, including people who appear in a photo but never used Mosaikin.
- Complain or appeal: if your content was removed and you think that was wrong, or you believe we’ve failed in our safety duties, email safety@mosaikin.app. We’ll investigate and reply with reasons, and if you are dissatisfied you may ask for a second review by someone not involved in the first decision. This procedure is free, and using it does not affect your right to go to court.
8. The legal bits, briefly
We provide the guest experience free of charge with reasonable care and skill. Nothing here limits liability we cannot limit by law (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud). These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can use your local courts. Data-protection complaints can also go to the ICO (Privacy Notice section 11).
