Funeral and memorial photo sharing, gently
For a funeral, a memorial or a celebration of life, Mosaikin gives a family one private place to gather photos of someone they have lost. Friends and relatives add photos from their phone’s browser, old prints and past years included, with no app and no account. The family keeps every photo and shares the album when they are ready.
Built in the UK, for UK celebrations. Run under UK law, with safeguarding built in as standard: every photo is checked before it is shown, and we report what the law says we must. You keep the lot, and share it as and when you like in a digital guestbook and album.
The people and words in the film are fictional.
Read what the film shows
Rain on a hillside. Mourners walk up to a small chapel under their umbrellas, one of them a soft coral.
Inside, an order of service reads "In loving memory of Margaret", with a code to share a photo or a memory. A phone opens the family's page: "Remembering Margaret", with Add photos and the Book of Memories.
An old seaside print of Margaret on a bicycle is photographed with the phone and joins the newer photos in the gallery.
The Book of Memories. From the gathering, her grandson Tom: "She taught every one of us to swim at Filey, and never let go a moment too soon." From those who could not be there, Aunt Jean: "Thinking of you all from Toronto. She would have loved the hymns."
Her photographs are laid around a lit candle: "Their story, told by everyone who loved them." The film ends on the Mosaikin name and mosaikin.app.
It has no speech; the sound is piano and rain.
How do we collect photos from family and friends for a funeral?
Most of the photos that matter are already on other people’s phones. Share the link with the funeral details, or print the QR code on the order of service, and anyone can add theirs. Photos from years past belong here too: a photo of an old print taken on a phone, a scan or a screenshot uploads just as well as a new one, so the album holds a whole life, not only the day. The family can then share it, privately or more widely, as and when they are ready. See collecting celebration of life photos, gently.
Nobody is asked to download an app, create an account or give an email address. Choose the Memorial template when you create the event, and the wording guests see is written for remembrance. Then add your own welcome message so the page says exactly what you want it to say.
Can the photos stay private to the family?
Yes, if you want them to. The family decides who can open the gallery, and can change it at any time. See What do the three gallery privacy settings mean?
- You choose who can open the gallery: only the people who have joined with the event’s access code, anyone you give the code to, or anyone with the link.
- Everything is checked before it appears, and you can switch on Require approval to see each photo before anyone else does.
- Hide or delete anything. Deleting a photo removes the stored files for good.
- Location data is stripped from every photo before it is stored.
People can also write in the Book of Memories, an online memory book that is the Memorial template’s guestbook, with an optional private note that only the family reads.
What can we keep afterwards?
Download every photo as one ZIP, and the Book of Memories as a typeset PDF you can print. A slideshow can play at the gathering itself, and a short video can be made from the photos afterwards.
An upgraded event’s archive stays available for 5 years, and if Mosaikin ever winds down we give 12 months of notice with the download working throughout. We will not promise to hold photographs forever; we guarantee your own copy.
If you are also looking at Guestpix, Mosaikin vs Guestpix sets the two side by side, with the date each fact was checked. How every photo is kept safe, and what we report as the law requires, is on Is Mosaikin safe?

Questions people ask
Can people add old photos of the person, not just new ones?
Yes. Anything on a phone uploads, including photos from years ago, screenshots and scans of prints.
Can we keep the gallery private to family and friends?
Yes. A private gallery opens only for you, the helpers you invite and people who have joined with the event’s access code. The link on its own shows nothing.
Do people need an account to share funeral or memorial photos?
No. They scan the QR code or open the link and add photos from the browser. Nobody is asked for an email address or a password.
What does it cost?
One payment for the event, with nothing recurring: Premium £89. That includes the full archive, the printable guestbook and the video.
Can someone ask for a photo to be taken down?
Yes. Anyone can report a photo from the gallery without an account, and the family can delete it, which removes the stored files for good.
Give your guests one album for the day
Guests never need an app or an account, and the event is one payment with nothing recurring.
