How do I create an event?

From the dashboard, choose Create New Event and give it a name, a date and a template — that is all that is required.

Sign in, then choose Create New Event on your dashboard. Three fields, and only the first two really need thought:

  • Event name — at least two characters. It is what guests see at the top of everything, so use the name they would recognise: “Maria & Scott’s Wedding”, not “Wedding 2027 final”.
  • Event date — used for the invitation, the poster and the countdown on your dashboard.
  • Template — Social Gathering, Wedding / Celebration, Work / Corporate or Memorial / Remembrance. It sets the wording guests see throughout — a wedding gets a “Guestbook”, a work event gets “Feedback”, a social event a “Quote Board”, a memorial a “Book of Memories” — along with the placeholder text and the welcome blurb. A memorial has no scavenger hunt at all. You can change the template afterwards.

You can also add a cover photo here if you have one to hand. It is optional, and you can add or change it later on the Settings tab.

The event is created straight away, on the free plan, with its own access code. You land on its dashboard, which has tabs for Overview, Content, Moderation, Activities, Sharing, Keepsakes and Settings. A memorial has no Activities tab, because that is where the scavenger hunt lives.

One event per occasion

An event is one gallery with one guest list and one photo allowance. A wedding and its next-day brunch are usually happier as two events.
