How do photo prints work?
Choose photos from the gallery, we print them on photographic paper at 6×4 or 7×5 inches and post them to you; each is cropped from the centre to fit, and a photo too small to print well is marked before you choose it.
- Press Choose photos on a photo prints pack (hosts: the Keepsakes tab; guests: the Printed keepsakes from this event card on the gallery, when the host has switched guest ordering on).
- Tap the photos you want, up to the number in the pack. Each is shown at the print's shape, cropped from its centre exactly as it will print, in the order you chose them.
- A photo marked Low resolution will print but may look soft. One marked Too small cannot be chosen for that size; it may still fit the smaller size.
- Continue to the order, choose how many packs, tick the made-to-order acknowledgement and pay with Stripe, where you also enter the delivery address.
Hosts can print any photo in the event, including ones held back from the gallery. Guests print from the public gallery only: a photo that is not shown to guests cannot be put in a guest's pack, and the order is checked against the gallery again when it is printed. A photo removed from the gallery after an order is placed is left out of the prints; if that happens to your order, contact us with the order reference and we will refund the missing print.
Why the crop?
Phones shoot at 4:3 and prints are 3:2 (6×4) or 7:5, so every print loses a little from two edges. The picker shows exactly what will be kept, and the crop is always from the centre.
