The QR code will not scan — what now?

Try the camera app rather than a scanner app, check the print size and lighting, and fall back to typing the link and access code.

• Use the phone’s own camera app. On both iPhone and Android it recognises QR codes and offers the link. Third-party scanner apps are often worse.
• Check the print. A code printed smaller than about 2 cm across, or on glossy card under a spotlight, is hard to read. Reprint it larger from the poster PDF, which is vector and scales without going fuzzy.
• Move back a little. Phone cameras often cannot focus closer than about 10 cm.
• Type the link instead. The host has it, along with the access code if the gallery is protected.
