How do I set up the scavenger hunt?
On the Activities tab, apply a ready-made template or write your own missions; guests see them straight away, unless you schedule one to reveal later.
The scavenger hunt turns the gallery into a game: you list moments you would like photographed, and guests earn points for capturing them. It is also the most reliable way to get photos of the things you actually want photographed.
On the Activities tab, either apply a template in one click — Wedding Classics, Party & Birthday, Corporate Event, New Year’s Eve — or type your own missions one at a time (“Selfie with the DJ”). You are shown what a template will add before it is applied.
Missions appear to guests as soon as they are added, and can be edited or removed at any time. Each is worth points, and a leaderboard shows how guests are doing.
Saving a mission for later
To keep a mission back — “The First Dance”, say, until the dancing starts — open it with the pencil (Edit mission), turn on Reveal later and choose the time, in your device’s time zone, up to seven days either side of the event date. Until then guests cannot see it or score it, and the mission shows Scheduled on your list. At that time it appears on guests’ phones without anyone reloading. Turn Reveal later off to show it straight away.
A memorial has no scavenger hunt, so a memorial event has no Activities tab. See Can I change my event’s name, date or template after creating it? for what happens to missions if you switch an event to a memorial.
Guests must have joined to score
Someone browsing a public gallery without joining can see the missions but their photos are not scored. Scoring is tied to a guest session, which is what stops one person claiming the same mission repeatedly.
For a birthday, a hen do or a baby shower, the party photo sharing app page shows the rest of the evening.
